Welcome to the comprehensive A to Z guide for setting up, customizing, and launching your premium boutique store with the Crochet Co theme.
After purchasing, you will receive a .zip file containing your theme. Do not unzip this file on your computer. You will upload the entire .zip directly to Shopify.
Log into your Shopify Admin. Go to Online Store > Themes. Scroll down to the Theme Library section, click 'Add theme', and select 'Upload zip file'. Choose the Crochet Co .zip file and upload.
Once uploaded, it will appear in your Theme Library. You can click 'Customize' to edit it before making it live. When you're ready, click 'Actions' > 'Publish'.
Crochet Co uses a premium natural color palette. In the Theme Editor, go to Theme Settings (the gear icon) > Colors. You can configure your Background (Creamy Beige), Text (Deep Espresso), and Accents (Sage Green & Dusty Rose). These colors automatically apply to all buttons, badges, and overlays.
Under Theme Settings > Typography, you can set your primary and secondary fonts. We strongly recommend using a Serif font (like Playfair Display) for Headings to maintain the boutique aesthetic, and a clean Sans-Serif (like DM Sans) for body text.
Under Theme Settings > Navigation & Buttons, you can toggle between 'Rounded' (pill-shaped) and 'Square' (slightly rounded corners) buttons globally.
Add a 'Video Hero' section. You can upload an MP4 directly or provide a YouTube link. Ensure you add fallback text and a CTA button to draw users into your collections.
Add the 'Trust Benefits' section below the hero. This uses custom SVG icons to highlight features like 'Free Shipping' or 'Handmade Quality'.
Use the Marquee section to display scrolling text (e.g., promotional offers). You can control the scroll speed and background color in the section settings.
Color variants are automatically converted into visual swatches. Ensure your variant names accurately describe the color, and the theme will handle the rest.
In the Product Information block, add 'Collapsible Tab' blocks to organize your Description, Materials, and Shipping information into neat accordions.
The theme features a modern slide-out cart. In Theme Settings > Cart, set your 'Free Shipping Threshold' (e.g., 100). The progress bar will automatically calculate how close the customer is to free shipping.
